Backstory
A man in a dark suit looks out of the passenger seat window of his SUV. He takes a long drag on his cigarette. Man, it had been a while since he'd had one. Seemed like forever ago... before this place turned to shit. He's been in Chernarus for a few years now. Only three months ago he left his small shelter in the woods near Pusta. He'd allied himself with many clans, served in just a few. He knows how it works now, this fucked up place he now calls home. He tosses the cigarette out of the window. He turns towards the driver. "It is time for us to stop being lenient. We have only done good. Given away our wares so that the people of Chernarus will be able to survive. Yet still, we are held up continuously by the bandit clans and other various factions. We need to fight back."
The other men in the SUV nodded in agreement. "This world... you have to do what you have to to survive. We will work for ourselves and our allies. Not for the people. We will change. We are no longer the Gun Runners. We are the Black Hat Militia."

About Us
Formerly the Gun Runners of Chernarus, we have reformed. We have decided that it was not profitable to have people recognizing us as pushovers. People soiled our reputation by placing impossible orders which we were unable to fulfill.
As the Black Hat Militia, we have more freedom to do what we wish. We have no obligations to anyone except our alliances, and those that cannot fend for themselves. If you get in our way, we will end you. Our ultimate goal is survival for ourselves, and helping those that cannot help themselves.
We like to think of ourselves as the 'anti-hero'. We only try to rob and kill those that are deemed our enemies or show hostilities toward us. We want to help people any way we can, we just will complete our missions in violent or semi-unethical ways.
//The Black Hat Militia was first created on 05-05-2013 under the name "Gun Runners". It was a semi-bandit trading clan that would take orders for guns and then find the gun to fulfil that order. After a short while, people would request ridiculously high value guns on a daily basis then mock the clan when the order was not completed. Due to this, the name was changed to "Black Hat Militia" and reformed on 15-05-2013. The name comes from the term 'Black Hat' which refers to an illegal activity done just for fun or personal gain, with malicious intent. Eventually, the clan decided to take a lighter path on 14-06-2013 and reform once more in to a slightly friendlier clan. Fighting the bad in order to help the good. Then, on 30-07-2013 the clan was remade once more with the sole intention of defeating bandits and hostiles in Chernarus. Although this time, helping any civilians along the way was optional rather than a goal. Eventually, on 02-09-2013 the Black Hat Militia joined The Sanctuary in an effort to combat bandits more effectively. This is where we are today, with the Black Hat Militia stationed in Sanctuary helping any friendlies that come along whilst stomping out any bandits that may come to the doors.

Policies
In light of recent events, the Black Hat Militia has adopted a new way of thinking when it concerns the eternal struggle of life in Chernarus, and dealing with hostile bandit clans.
MOLON LABE-means "Come and take". It is a classical expression of defiance reportedly spoken by King Leonidas I in response to the Persian army's demand that the Spartans surrender their weapons at the Battle of Thermopylae.
The Black Hat Militia will not comply. Any hostility against its members will be met with extreme violence. We are no one's lap dog. Why live in this world if you cannot live as free men.
